After graduating from college, Su Man took an internship at a well-known local trading and manufacturing company. During a meeting, her “demon boss,” Gu Yechen, asked if she could handle a five-million-yuan order. Having watched far too many idol dramas, she said yes without a second thought. She later became his business assistant, and their relationship began to warm. Working together on various orders brought them even closer.
But Su Man discovered that the demon boss was married, in a family-arranged union, with a wife recognized by the family. Unwilling to cross a moral line, she withdrew in time, quit, and joined another company. They remained entangled despite their separation. Su Man flourished at her new job, but faced pressure from all sides because of the workplace culture. So she struck out on her own and founded a company.
Gu Yechen officially divorced his wife three years later. During those three years, he laid the groundwork both at home and overseas, and rebuilt his supplier network. He remained with his original company in name only, handing actual control to his ex-wife. Over the same three years, Su Man turned her company into an industry leader.
What will happen between them next?
