Journey to the West: Bodhi's Son Refuses the Pilgrimage from the Start

Xu Fan thinks his father, Patriarch Bodhi, has gone mad.

A pilgrimage to the West? Isn’t that just a grand scheme cooked up by the Heavenly Court and the Buddhists together?

Sending his own son, Patriarch Bodhi’s flesh and blood, to join Sun Wukong in that mess sounds an awful lot like sending him to his death.

Xu Fan waves it off again and again, then turns around and opens his inner world, where he can manufacture divine weapons and treasures without limit.

All he wants is to cultivate in peace, but somehow the Buddhists have their eyes fixed on his special talent.

At last, fed up with the constant pestering, Xu Fan casually suppresses an Arhat at the lowest level of his inner world.

Patriarch Bodhi is astonished to discover that his son seems even more formidable than all the immortals and Buddhas in the heavens...

Sun Wukong is even more dumbfounded: “Junior Brother, are you mass-producing these magical treasures?”
