She was an orphan from a former dynasty general. Her maternal grandfather was a general who ruled the country, and her mother was the "eldest princess Zhenhui" who was personally named by the late emperor. Her family was executed for "collaborating with the enemy and treason", and she was hidden by loyal servants and grew up in a water town in the south of the Yangtze River.
