“This is Moonlit Peak, where neither rain nor snow has fallen for a hundred years.”
“Snow falls in endless layers, covering countless traces of the past.”
Shen Ci'an's master is Xu Zhihe, known as the cultivation world's only possessor of immortal bones and a person favored by fate. Just look at Moonlit Peak, where Xu Zhihe lives, and you'll see how powerful she is.
Beside Moonlit Peak lies Snow-Treading Cliff, where the snow has remained unmelted for a thousand years. Yet under Xu Zhihe's care, Moonlit Peak has not seen a single drop of rain or flake of snow in a hundred years.
Strangely, this place untouched by rain or snow raised someone as cool and detached as Xu Zhihe. No matter what happens, her expression never changes, and not even a ripple ever stirs in her eyes.
Until Shen Ci'an was ambushed while seeking revenge and left hovering between life and death. At that moment, a wisp of a lingering soul found her. It claimed to be Shen Ci'an's former soul and showed her a vision of her past life.
In her past life, Shen Ci'an was the true owner of the immortal bones. When she possessed them, there was no one named Xu Zhihe. Later, Shen Ci'an defied Heaven's will, cut out her own immortal bones, and tore her soul apart, forcing everything to begin again. Heaven was enraged, the immortal bones changed hands, and Shen Ci'an became a discarded pawn. Her destiny was erased, and she perished early amid countless tangled causes and effects. In her many cycles of rewinding time, she and Xu Zhihe had sometimes never crossed paths, sometimes met only once, and sometimes grown close and confessed their feelings, yet she could never escape her final death.
Through countless cycles and memories hopelessly entwined with cause and effect, only by sweeping away the layers of snow and uncovering the traces of the past can one understand the origins of their fated bond.
Cool, world-weary master × resilient, principled disciple
