The Blood-Soaked Strange Tales of Chang’an

Under the prosperous Tang dynasty, undercurrents swirl through Chang'an. Shen Yan, a Junior Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, and his companions, including Su Qinghuan, an expert in folk rituals and occult arts, and Lu Xingchi, a master of Sichuan dialects, are drawn into a shocking conspiracy orchestrated by the Ghost-Eye Sect. From the bloody blossoms at Blackwind Stronghold to the blood mist over Chang'an, sinister yin energy turns commoners and members of the imperial family into puppets. The group relies on folk remedies and objects such as glutinous rice, mugwort, and evil-repelling talismans to fight the wicked forces. As they investigate, mysteries emerge: Prince Shu's attempt to restore his throne, the machinations of the Yinluo Cult, and more. A jade pendant engraved with the character “Wu,” a phoenix-patterned jade hairpin, and the late emperor's edict all point to secrets in the imperial harem. With a prophecy of “the dragon throne changing hands,” an even greater crisis is brewing.
