Lin Xiaoyue played her part perfectly, until one stormy night, Gu Yanshen caught her throwing a harasser into a puddle. Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, he gave her an amused smile. “Tired of pretending to be a model student?”
“Funny, I’m pretending to be normal too.”
And so they struck a tacit agreement to date. He needed her “normal” act as cover, and she needed his status as protection. Everyone thought it was a game between a little white rabbit and a wolf, until student council president Lu Chen appeared with evidence of a bet. “He’s betting you’ll be the first to fall for him.”
Lin Xiaoyue glanced at the agreement and smiled. Then she turned and backed Gu Yanshen into a corner.
“I hear you bet I wouldn’t dare make our relationship public, senior?”
On the day the whole school erupted, Gu Yanshen tore up their agreement in front of everyone. For the first time, panic showed in his eyes.
“I surrender. I fell for you the moment we met.”
Gu Yanshen thought Lin Xiaoyue was a little white rabbit who would blush at the slightest flirtation.
Only later did he discover that beneath her skin was a cat with razor-sharp claws. As it happened, taming wild cats was what he loved most. Their relationship was an agreement meant to serve them both, and he waited for her to fall completely. But the first one to lose control was him.
“Gu Yanshen, the game is over.”
He lowered his head and kissed her, his voice hoarse.
“No, my prey. This is only the beginning…”
