The Anti-Collaboration Squad: The War After the War Against Japan

The cheers celebrating victory in the War of Resistance had barely faded when, beneath the lingering smoke, undercurrents began to stir.

Cao Tianzheng had just led the Independent Regiment in sowing hope for the base area's postwar reconstruction when a secret order from the Party Central Committee shattered the brief calm: the regiment was to return to its command immediately and enter a “postwar battle,” one without gunfire but no less perilous.

From rooting out the remnants of the Japanese invaders lurking across North China and dismantling intelligence networks woven by enemy agents and collaborators, to facing the guns of the reactionary Kuomintang, fighting bloody battles on the loess slopes of Qinghuabian and amid the raging waters of the Yangtze; from the grueling advance into the Dabie Mountains to crossing the lofty ranges of the Great Southwest to wipe out entrenched bandits and spies...

For years, Cao Tianzheng and his troops marched ever onward in the name of their faith. They guarded new beginnings amid the ruins and tore through conspiracies shrouded in mist, writing the final chapter of the war with their blood and loyalty, all so that the sun of peace could truly shine on every inch of liberated land. This is a journey of perseverance and sacrifice, an epic of a generation that laid the foundations of New China with their lives.
