Infinite Corridor Hotel: A Record of Rule Horror

The Infinite Corridor: The Ultimate Record of Rule-Based Horror

(A mid-length novel) An unfinished trip to Yunnan unexpectedly sets off an endless cycle of rule-based horror scenarios. Lin Xia thinks that after lifting the curse of the Bloodstained Ancient Village, she’ll finally get a moment of peace. But after checking into the Infinite Corridor Hotel late at night, she’s dragged into a bizarre group chat: no opening the door after midnight, never look through the peephole, and the manager never knocks late at night. The moment the first rule appears, there’s a knock right on cue.

From the hotel to Erhai Lake, from the ancient town of Lijiang to Pudacuo in Shangri-La, four survivors with very different personalities press on together: coolheaded and decisive Lin Xia, steady and perceptive Chen Mo, meticulous Zhang Cheng, and timid but tenacious Su Xiao. They uncover the taboo surrounding the restaurant’s red food, face the eerie reflections of the garden statues, cross the watchful paintings in the library, and enter the basement to dispel a century of resentment. Behind every rule lies a tragedy born of love turned to hate, and every challenge brings a struggle of wills and sacrifice.

When the water spirit’s nursery rhyme echoes across Erhai at midnight, the black lanterns of Lijiang’s ancient town begin to “eat people,” and visions emerge from the mists of Pudacuo, they realize that every scenario is controlled by the “Core of Resentment.” The key to breaking the cycle lies in their most precious memories and their purest kindness.

This is an adventure across mountains, rivers, and lakes, as well as a confrontation with resentment, fear, and betrayal. At the boundary between rules and human nature, they wield courage as a blade and friendship as a shield, searching for a way to survive the endless curse. In the end, they uncover the ultimate secret of rule-based horror: all fear leads back to sorrow that has never been healed.
