At thirty-five, with his mortgage unpaid and no partner, Chen Wen drops dead at the lectern and gets bound to a chatty System. Wasn’t he supposed to get the usual overpowered hero script? Instead, he’s opening an academy in a cultivation world, and his students aren’t even human?
System: “Dear Host, teach and nurture, welcome students of every kind, and guide people (and beasts) toward goodness! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧”
Chen Wen: “...Thanks a lot.”
And so, a strange little study appears in the boundless realm, run by a laid-back shopkeeper who loves tea and wellness, and charges a fortune for his calligraphy and paintings. He doesn’t want to defy heaven or get into fights. He just wants to recruit students while listening to music, and trade barbs with the System on the side.
Until one day, the leaders of the immortal sects, demonic overlords, and demon sovereigns all crowd around his door. “Mr. Chen, are you still taking students? We can negotiate the tuition!”
Chen Wen takes a sip of tea and looks at the System. “...Did we let this get a little out of hand?”
System: “Relax, Host. Our goal is the stars and the sea! (★ ω ★)”
The author likes to use like and then ellipsis to express hesitation and doubt. It's a bit like a primary school student who learned a rhetorical technique and then used it crazily. It is used to the point of making people aesthetically tired. It is used to the point where people know who it is when they see it 😂 😂. Also, the main purpose of this novel and the protagonist's task should be teaching, but it seems that this point of view is not highlighted. It is either a slap in the face or on the way to a slap in the face.
The protagonist is so cowardly, he is obviously invincible, yet he lets others make a bet when his apprentice is about to be killed, and lets him go when someone breaks in and kills his apprentice, but the other party has nothing to do with it.
