Seventeen-year-old high schooler Xi Yue is an oddball obsessed with abstract art and known for her erratic behavior. While skipping school, she accidentally touches an ancient mirror and is pulled into a strange world called Mirror Abyss. There, she meets Gu Yingshen, a cold and formidable warrior; Su Wanqing, a levelheaded analyst; Lin Xiaomeng, a gentle healer; and Wang Han, a tech geek. Together, they form a team and fight to survive.
As they struggle through one twisted scenario after another, Xi Yue reveals an uncanny instinct for spotting irregularities in the rules. She gradually awakens a terrifying power far beyond her companions': an attack and control ability capable of negating reality and commanding space, called [All Things Return to the Void]. In its ultimate form, she becomes a white-haired, red-eyed breaker of deadlocks.
But as their exploration goes deeper, a startling truth emerges: Mirror Abyss isn't a natural world, but the dream of an ancient being called “Mirror.” Xi Yue herself is the “dynamic incarnation” of Mirror, cast into the human world: its burning face. And Mirror Abyss's final boss, Shuo Ye, who has blue-and-white hair and black eyes and wields absolute order, is her other half, born alongside her and her mirror image: Mirror's “static incarnation,” its cold core.
Shuo Ye sees Xi Yue as a “source of contamination” from human emotion and vows to reclaim her, restoring the “perfect” stillness. But after protecting her teammates and experiencing the warmth and bonds of humanity, Xi Yue refuses to lose herself.
In the end, she must face “another self” who shares her very essence, yet wields powers that are the exact opposite of hers.
