Billions of stars tremble beneath the might of an Emperor. Amid the churning sea of blood, Lin Xian stands with his hands behind his back, clad in a purple-gold imperial robe embroidered with dragons. Before him is an otherworldly Supreme whose soul has been beaten to pieces; behind him, the iron cavalry of the Imperial Sect stretches across a million star systems.
“Great Emperor Xuanqiong! You attained the throne through the ‘Way of Laziness’ and haven’t moved your imperial palace in ten thousand years. Why would you come out in person today?” The otherworldly Supreme coughs up black blood, disbelief filling his eyes.
Lin Xian yawns. Even the dragons embroidered on his imperial robe can’t be bothered to stir. “Can’t be helped. You were disturbing me while I watched a livestream of the star map.”
As soon as he finishes speaking, a strand of imperial qi shoots from the air without his even moving a finger, annihilating the enemy’s final remnant of spirit.
The million-strong cavalry cries, “Long live the Great Emperor!” Their voices shake the cosmos. Lin Xian rubs his brow, looking impatient. “All right, break it up. We won, that’s all. Stop making a fuss over nothing.”
He turns to return to his imperial palace and continue lying flat while comprehending the Dao, but a sudden, violent shudder reaches the depths of his soul. It’s a life-or-death crisis from his ancestral planet, Earth, faint but deadly.
“Tsk. What a hassle.”
Lin Xian sighs. The imperial soul forged from ten thousand years of cultivation suddenly bursts into flame. Abandoning his body, he becomes a streak of light, pierces the barrier of chaos, and races toward the blue planet at the edge of the universe.
“The ancestral planet is about to be gone. Then I won’t even have anything left to think back on... Fine, I’ll go back and keep a low profile. I’ll lie down as long as I can.”
