Wolf Smoke, Warrior's Soul

In the late autumn of 1937, Regiment Commander Xie Tianyi is ordered to lead more than eight hundred soldiers in a desperate defense of the Shanghai front. Tasked with covering the main force's retreat, he and Battalion Commander Zhou Zhengguo and their men face Japanese troops who outnumber them several times over and are far better equipped. They fight to the death among the shattered ruins. Every bombed-out building and every street becomes a grave for the enemy. With their own flesh and blood, they forge an impregnable line of defense, proving to the world what it means to possess a spirit that never yields.
