We were once told that the stars above us represented hope and the future.
But every lie has its end.
When the chains around the solar system’s cage began to loosen, an ancient tide of spiritual energy returned like a flood, drowning cities and twisting life. Only then, amid the ruins and fragments of myth, did we glimpse the truth buried beneath it all:
Humanity is not the crown of creation.
We are the “Castoff Race of the Gods,” exiles of the universe, prisoners burdened with original sin and forgotten on the edge of the Milky Way.
The technology we pride ourselves on is nothing but a clumsy imitation of lost myths. The universe we explore is merely a carefully designed prison.
Then one day, I awoke amid a mountain of corpses. For the first time, the power dormant in my blood roared to life. I saw stellar wreckage falling and heard the call of the ancients.
The gods see us as “sin-blood remnants” to be purged. The myriad races see our home as “barbaric stellar ruins” ripe for plunder.
Then let it be as they wish.
I will take these shattered stars as my armor and kindle a fire from this cursed blood of sin. Behind me are countless kin bound in chains; before me stands the throne of order, ruled by the gods for billions of years.
On this road, I ask not how to return. I seek only the thrill of the fight.
If this starry sky will not let us stand,
then...
With mortal bodies, we shall forge a new age!
