Beast Taming: The Good-for-Nothing Awakens the Beastmaster System

Lin Chen thinks transmigration is really damn unreliable.

Other people transmigrate and either become invincible protagonists, starting with a max-level divine beast, or rise from being a good-for-nothing with an old master at their side who can crush everyone. But when it came to him, well, he really was a good-for-nothing. He transmigrated into the body of a seventeen-year-old boy on Blue Star in the year 2380, who also happened to be named Lin Chen.

But the boy's situation was a little too spectacularly hopeless.

Beast-taming talent? Sure. An affinity of 0.3, enough to move heaven and earth. They say the teacher overseeing the ceremony nearly thought the machine was broken when the reading came back. Even Wangcai next door, a purebred Chinese village dog and not a contracted beast, looked at him with a trace of sympathy.

Contracted beast? He had one of those too: a scrawny little mutt with dull fur that looked like it might blow away in a breeze. The original owner had given it the utterly plain name Xiao Hei.

Lin Chen - Background: A transmigrator (in his previous life, a top interstellar beast tamer who died unexpectedly and transmigrated into the body of a good-for-nothing on Blue Star with the same name). His original self was a collateral member of the Lin family of Jiangcheng, Huaxia, with terrible talent (his only contracted beast was an “ordinary mutt,” and his beast-taming affinity was 0.3). He was often bullied.

Personality: Initially patient and restrained (he keeps his transmigration secret and adjusts to his circumstances). After awakening, he is decisive and ruthless, deeply loyal to those he cares about (protecting his contracted beast, companions, and the heroine), and has principles (he does not indiscriminately kill innocents and despises stealing other people's contracted beasts).

Speech style: Usually gentle and reserved; when he puts someone in their place, he gets straight to the point. He speaks softly to his contracted beast and is cold and sharp with his enemies (for example: “You think you're worthy of touching my beast?”
