Older Woman, Younger Man
Wen Xia was shy, timid, and not one to meddle. So when she saw a group of thugs surrounding a young man who looked even more dangerous than they did on her way back to her rented apartment, she didn't plan to get involved. She just hid in a corner and waited for them to finish so she could go home.
The young man was a formidable fighter. He crushed all five opponents.
When the brawl was over, the thugs, crying in pain, all left. The young man was still leaning nearby.
Wen Xia didn't want to wait any longer. Pretending she'd just arrived, she lowered her head and hurried past.
To her surprise, the young man grabbed her wrist. A cigarette hung from the corner of his mouth, and he smiled like a bad guy.
Only after spending more time with him did Wen Xia realize that you couldn't judge a person by appearances. He really was a good guy.
