The real daughter Su Jin was a feared bandit leader before she was recognized by the General's Mansion. After being recognized, he was rejected by his biological parents and elder brother because of his "bandit spirit". They only preferred the gentle and pleasant fake daughter. After a conflict, Su Jin was completely given up and returned to the mountains disheartened.
However, an apocalyptic natural disaster that no one expected—the catastrophe of eternal winter—suddenly struck. The land is frozen, food harvests are impossible, and civilized order is rapidly collapsing.

The exciting part of the plot is that the down-and-out General's family has to come to seek refuge with their biological daughter/sister who they once despised. The former high-ranking fake daughter can now only work under the rules set by Su Jin in exchange for a bite of food. Su Jin not only gained a life for himself and his followers in the apocalypse, but also gradually uncovered the secrets behind the natural disaster, and joined forces with Gu Linchuan, the exiled prince who also rose in adversity, to finally calm down the troubled times and jointly establish a new dynasty and order.
