The story takes place in a time of great chaos, when a few little people were running around just to have food and clothing. Ma Sanshui rescued Song Yufu by chance, and then got involved in a struggle between powerful people, provoking Wang Tieniu and other gangsters. Han Xiaoliu and other friends accompany him all the way, breaking through life and death, accidentally bumping into higher levels, with constant reversals and climaxes. Sanshui used humor and wisdom to shuttle between the major forces, and finally counterattacked, protecting his relatives and friends, and rebuilding his homeland. The whole book combines humor and compact plot, telling the wonderful reversal of each "little person" in the gap between darkness and hope, including family, country, world, and trivial matters.
