Martial Arts: Broken Sword, Fading Sun

Broken Sword, Setting Sun: Synopsis

The Shen family, a renowned clan in Jiangnan, is massacred. Shen Muyun, the young master of the manor, flees Jiangnan for the Soul-Severing Gobi in the western frontier, carrying a blood feud and half a broken sword. On the brink of death, he is rescued by a mysterious old beggar and begins the hard struggle to survive in a ravine among the dunes. The old beggar teaches him more than survival skills such as identifying medicinal herbs, tracking, and concealment. He also passes on an unusual mental cultivation method, utterly different from the Shen family's martial arts. As the patterns on the broken sword are gradually deciphered, Shen Muyun discovers that his ancestral sword, Qingfeng, conceals a shocking secret, while the forces of the Netherworld Pavilion close in on him at every turn. During an encounter in a small western frontier town, he unexpectedly becomes entangled in the old feud between Sha Qianli and the old beggar, gradually uncovering the Netherworld Pavilion's vast web of schemes across the Western Regions. From a fallen young master to a survivor of the Gobi, from having his martial arts destroyed to finding his way back to the sword, Shen Muyun takes the half-broken sword as his proof and carves out a thorny path of revenge and redemption between the martial world and the desert.
