A handwritten note from the Republic of China brings out two love affairs that spanned a century.
On a rainy night in an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River, ancient book restorer Su Wan encounters architect Lu Zeyan who is looking for books in the rain. The moth-eaten "Yunxi Notes" in his arms turned out to be a diary left by his grandmother during the Republic of China. Hidden between the lines was a deep affection for the old house in the ancient town, as well as an unfulfilled promise.
In order to repair the manuscript, the two people accidentally got involved in the renovation of the old house: greedy developers coveted the land, cunning officials set a trap, and even the foreman wanted to take advantage of the chaos and set fire to it. They worked side by side to uncover fake land deeds, recover stolen cultural relics, and battle wits with conspiracies on the bluestone road. However, in the sweet smell of sweet-scented osmanthus cakes and the folds of old drawings, they glimpsed the tenderness in each other's eyes.
When the wedding list in the mezzanine of the note came to light, and when the centuries-old "" character under the magnolia tree was illuminated by the moonlight, they understood: the so-called old time is never a fading past, but something that someone is willing to protect for the rest of his life - the holding hands on the bluestone, and staying together in the years.
