[Savage beast world + transmigrate into a book + one-on-one romance + sweet, gentle girl vs. cold, heartless beast god]
Lin Yueya lies in a hospital bed. When she wakes after falling asleep, she finds she has transmigrated into the beast-world novel she was reading before bed, as Yueya, the vicious female antagonist who meets a tragic end.
The only female cub of the tribe’s shaman, the original Yueya is spoiled and willful, throwing her weight around and doing every kind of evil. She has nothing going for her but her beauty.
That morning, she steals a beast crystal from her neighbor. That evening, she sets her sights on a passing beastman, smashes his head, and tries to drug him so she can have her way with him. One of them is the heroine, and the other is the beast god’s human incarnation.
Faced with a future in which she’ll be sent into the forest six months later to be killed by a savage beast, Lin Yueya nearly blacks out.
Seeing the man unconscious beside her, she acts at once and “saves” the beast god’s incarnation, who has a fractured skull and amnesia.
When the downcast, confused boy wakes, she speaks in a sweet voice. “Are you all right? Your head is bleeding so much!”
The boy, temporarily amnesiac from his head injury, asks, “Did you save me?”
Lin Yueya: “Mm-hmm.”
The amnesiac boy, Xing Chen: I’ve met the kindest, most wonderful female in the whole beast world. I love her.
The beast god Xing Chen, with his memories restored: I’ve met the most wicked liar in the whole beast world. She’s a hypocrite who lies through her teeth. She can smash my head and then sweetly tell me she loves me.
She deserves to die, but I can’t bring myself to kill her.
In the end, Lin Yueya senses something is wrong and gets ready to run.
She’s barely taken a step before he catches her.
Looking at Xing Chen’s impassive face, she gives up and asks, “I’ve been lying to you all this time. What are you going to do to me?”
Xing Chen pulls her into his arms. “You lied because you love me...”
It's great to watch, but I think the ending is a bit rushed. I wish there could be a sequel.
