When science begins measuring ghosts, the instruments record humanity's oldest fears.
Chen Wang, a graduate student in folklore, has been able to "sense" things that should not exist since childhood. The price is that his memories are slowly being eroded. He had planned to drift through life in a daze, until a campus urban legend began to spread about "Shadow Imitators": they spy on your life, copy your habits, and finally smile as they ask the fatal question, "May I have your full name?"
Shen Yanhuai, an analyst with the Anomaly Signal Containment Bureau (ASC) assigned to investigate, firmly believes that every anomaly can be explained, contained, and controlled by science. At the crime scene, she faces off against Chen Wang, who holds a talisman in his hand while she carries instruments. Each sees the other as the embodiment of superstition and arrogance.
That is, until they are trapped together in the long-forgotten old campus hospital.
The lights go out, and the instruments fail. Black handprints seep through the walls. At the end of the corridor, their teammate, who had just sacrificed himself, calls their names softly in a familiar voice. Only then do they understand:
Some beings do not feed on flesh and blood. They feed only on "names."
And more terrifying than the ghosts is that the human experiment that gave them their names has never truly ended.
Very beautiful indeed
