[Exile + adorable child + metaphysics + farming + everyone dotes on her + no romance / childhood sweethearts + feel-good power fantasy]
The Duke of Zhenguo's estate has been confiscated! The whole family, young and old, sick and frail, has been exiled to Yin Mountain, the legendary “forbidden land of the living.”
A place filled with sinister energy, crawling with ghosts and monsters, where not a blade of grass grows?
The whole capital is waiting to laugh at the Pei family and see them die without a trace.
But...
Three-year-old Pei Zhaozhao blinks her big eyes at the ghosts covering the mountainside and drools. “Wow! So many pretty uncles and aunties nobody wants!”
And so, Yin Mountain's whole atmosphere changes overnight:
Her father is gravely wounded and at death's door. The Black and White Impermanence come to claim his soul?
Zhaozhao grabs one mourning staff in each hand. “Uncle in white, play jump rope with Zhaozhao!”
She literally shoves her father's soul back into his body!
Her eldest brother is blind and has lost all hope for life?
Zhaozhao reaches out her chubby little hand, pulls a cloud of black mist from his eyes, and squishes it. “Don't cry, big brother. Zhaozhao ate the nasty thing!”
The capital's once-renowned number-one young gentleman instantly regains his sight!
It's freezing cold, there's no food, and clearing land to farm is too hard?
Zhaozhao waves her little hand and points at the shivering ghosts:
“Red-dress sister, go catch fish in the river!”
“Flaming big brother, go cook at the stove!”
“Hairy zombie uncle, hurry up and loosen the soil in the fields. No slacking off!”
Later on...
Other exiles: chewing tree bark, sleeping in ruined temples, and wetting themselves in fright at ghosts.
The Pei family: living in a castle, eating hot pot, surrounded by ghost servants, mastering peerless martial arts, and even turning Yin Mountain into a secluded paradise along the way!
When treacherous ministers and villains arrive, murder in their eyes, they find themselves deep in thought at the sight of a perfectly ordered army of ghost generals...
The Pei family, looking proud: “Can't be helped. Our precious girl might be the King of the Underworld reincarnated!”
