His Majesty Insists I'm a Deity

Su Qingyuan, a PhD in astrophysics, is working late in the lab when an accident sends her transmigrating to the fictional Great Yong dynasty. Wearing modern clothes and carrying a star-tracking locator, she falls straight into Emperor Xiao Jinyuan’s Zichen Hall. Her sudden arrival from the sky and her strange “artifact,” the locator, remind Xiao Jinyuan of the “heavenly being descended to earth” recorded in the royal archives.

Using her knowledge of modern science, Su Qingyuan first accurately interprets an ancient star chart, then points out a forgotten underground river that can solve the food supply crisis on the northern frontier. She also successfully predicts droughts and floods and exposes enemy spies. Her series of seemingly miraculous feats gradually convinces the young emperor that she is the “deity” foretold in the archives. Against all opposition, Xiao Jinyuan treats her as a goddess, builds her an observatory, and relies on her to help govern the realm.

But behind her divine aura lie the hidden daggers of court politics: the chancellor’s suspicions and the threat of assassination. Su Qingyuan must also struggle to adapt modern knowledge to an ancient world, while her relationship with Xiao Jinyuan subtly shifts from reverence to trust, and then to complicated feelings. As the threat from the Northern Di grows ever closer and her identity as a “deity” faces its greatest test, can she use the light of science to illuminate the dynasty’s future? And what fate awaits her and the emperor who raised her to the altar? This is a collision between modern wisdom and ancient political intrigue, and a singular bond that quietly grows amid reverence and danger.
