This is a legend about a summoner.
Sixteen-year-old Lin Ye is an orphan from Qinglan Town. Desperate to scrape together the money for his younger sister Xiao Tang's Weimai Pills, he takes a perilous gamble and enters the Withered Vein Slope. On his tenth attempt at summoning, he accidentally awakens a ball of gray fluff: the remnant soul of the Earth's Core Spirit. It can resonate with the world's source veins, but the Vein Guardians Alliance considers it an "evil spirit."
By then, the source veins have been depleted for a hundred years. The Vein Guardians Alliance monopolizes the few remaining vein realms and exploits independent summoners. Meanwhile, the Vein Devourers secretly drain the source veins to nurture evil spirits, hoping to revive the ancient Turbid Abyss. The ball of fluff in Lin Ye's arms is the key to changing everything. It can evolve, bond with others, and even restart the source veins.
"I have to save Xiao Tang, and I have to save this world too."
Lin Ye and the ball of fluff set out for Flamefire Mountain, witnessing the transformations of the Stone Armor Rat, the Rockarmored Battle Bear, and the Earth's Core Giant Spirit. He goes from being at odds with the aloof stewardess Su Qing Xue to standing shoulder to shoulder with her, exposing the Vein Guardians Alliance's dark secrets. He searches the seven places where the veins have been severed and fuses the remnants of the Earth's Core Spirit. When the evil god of the Turbid Abyss breaks free, he bonds with the ball of fluff, now evolved into the "Primordial Earth Mother," and seals the catastrophe with a network of veins.
On the day the source veins revive, Xiao Tang holds up freshly picked Weimai Grass in the morning mist of Qinglan Town and smiles. "Big brother, look. Spring is here."
From a speck of dust on the frontier to a resonance shared by all living things, this is a summoner's story of protection, growth, and rebirth. Every summoning is a promise between a young man and the world; every beast's roar heralds the awakening of the source veins.
