I Became the Boss??

[Management, Growth, Strategy, Villainous Male Lead, Boss Leveling, Fantasy Continent, Veteran Gamer]

“We can’t hold out! We seriously can’t hold out! If we keep fighting head-on, I’m definitely going to die. Fall back for now!”

His teammates’ panicked cries still echo in his headset as Lin Feng’s screen goes dark. Leading his gaming clan, he has just fallen to the new Boss for the eighteenth time. His fingers hover over the keyboard for ages before he suddenly leans back, the chair legs screeching against the floor. He’s genuinely lost it.

It’s just a stupid game. Do they really have to make the Boss this ridiculously overpowered?

Damn those developers. How can a Boss be this impossible to beat?

He irritably rakes his fingers through his hair as drowsiness washes over him. Half asleep, he suddenly hears a voice in his mind, indistinct yet clear, without any warning: “Here’s your chance to design a Boss. Can you make one better than everyone else?”

“Obviously!” Lin Feng blurts out without a second thought, full of a veteran gamer’s confidence. “With my decades of gaming experience, I can design a Boss that’s stylish and fun, one everyone will love, unlike this piece of garbage!”

But when the sun is high the next day and Lin Feng jolts awake, he’s completely dumbfounded. Despair hits without warning. They said he’d get to design a Boss, so how did he end up becoming the Boss that every player on the server is chasing down?

And to make things worse, he has to level up from the weakest Boss, one step at a time!

Also, can someone explain what’s going on with this mother lizard? I’m not from that country!
