When a horde of monsters, ruins, and otherworldly arrivals suddenly “transferred” into the world, Zhao Lie discovered that his left hand had turned into a pale “ghost hand,” and a mysterious System had appeared in his mind. This lousy System does nothing but issue class certifications and prompt him to “obtain a weapon”... Well, it’s better than nothing.
There’s no time to complain about how terrible the apocalypse is, not when his teammates are waiting for him to hack through the monsters. There’s Yu Kuang, a Berserker with explosive damage; Chenxi, an elf knight who can save your life when she’s gentle and clear a dungeon alone when she gets serious; Qin Lan, a brawler who can knock out a kid with one punch; and Zhao Lie, a Sword Soul who can wield just about any weapon. This motley crew somehow wrested Dark City from an Evil Dragon and defended Zhan City against an orc army.
The Apostles keep appearing one after another: some fly through the sky, some swim through the sea, and some even carry contagious plagues. Zhao Lie grumbles, “When is this lousy game going to finish updating?” as he charges onward with an ever-heavier sword on his shoulder.
The good news: he awakened the power of waves and took a blind old man as his master.
The bad news: the enemies keep getting stronger, his teammates are always disconnecting, and that lousy System still hasn’t explained who sent it.
Oh, right. He also tamed a cursed sword that can talk back. It insults him every day, and he’s ready to return it.
