Ruin Gu

The Dongfang clan treated Dongfang Yu like a god, devoting the entire clan's resources to his care.

Everyone envied him, saying he was born divine and had inherited the legacy of his ancestor.

No one knew that every night he had to gouge out his heart and scrape his bones, feeding a “hollow grave” with his own blood and essence.

Even fewer knew that he had secretly plundered the clan's entire treasury and refined the “Sacred Return to the Ruins” into his own life-bound Gu nest.

Then, on the day the ancestor was about to return, Dongfang Yu turned around in full view of the crowd and swallowed the descending remnant of the ancestor's soul whole.

“Raise Gu for a thousand days, use it for one. You fed me for seventeen years. Today, it's my turn to feast.”
