Apocalypse: My Critical Hits Play Dirty

[Apocalypse] [System] [Ten-Thousandfold Critical Hits] [Side Effects]

Red fog blankets the city, and the world is crudely gamified by the System. Kill zombies to earn points; survival depends on your status screen. Lin Fan has been trapped for three days and is so hungry he's about to gnaw on moldy bread. At the brink of despair, he awakens the talent "Ten-Thousandfold Critical Hit," which can magnify any effect to an absurd degree.

A critical hit turns moldy bread into legendary military rations that restore him to full condition with one bite. A battered iron pipe becomes a weapon that deals true damage: one scrape, and you're done for. A megaphone becomes a horde-summoning device. While others pay protection money, he charges tolls. The catch is that every critical hit comes with an outrageous side effect, from truth serum to compulsive thievery, each one hitting him in the face in turn.

To fight his way through the zombie sea and rescue his younger sister from the university district, and to squeeze every last drop out of this crooked System, Lin Fan decides to fight dirty and use ten-thousandfold critical hits to rewrite the rules of the apocalypse.
