The first cold wave after winter came fiercely, with biting north winds blowing during the day, and late at night, the temperature dropped to more than ten degrees below zero. Jiang Chi lay on the bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep, listening to the howling wind outside the window. He always felt uneasy, as if something bad was going to happen.
At about one o'clock in the morning, Jiang Chi was woken up by a slight moan. He pricked up his ears and listened. The sound came from Su Nian's room next door.
His heart tightened, and he immediately got up from the bed, put on his clothes, and walked quickly to the door of Su Nian's room. The door was not closed tightly, leaving a crack. Jiang Chi gently opened the door, and through the moonlight coming in from the window, he saw Su Nian lying on the bed, with his brows furrowed tightly, his face flushed, and a painful groan coming from his mouth.
