[Cold Case Busting + Possessing Bodies to Catch Killers + Mild Horror + Plot-Driven + Dark Humor]
Ling, a corporate drone with no debts or grudges and a daily routine that never strayed beyond home and work,
was killed in a bizarre attack without the slightest warning. The killer’s methods were extraordinarily cruel.
For some ridiculous reason, Ling was then recruited by the King of Hell to work for him...
The Underworld was abuzz with the news. After a century-long gap, someone had finally taken up the job of solving cold cases again.
This in-between existence, neither fully human nor ghost, meant living every day on the brink of life and death... and it turned out to be pretty good.
Each time Ling helped a wronged soul who had died a violent death pass on, Ling gained a little more time to live. The main reason for fighting so hard to stay alive was that, as a mystery buff, Ling wanted to find out who had committed these crimes. Ling: And who killed me? (A vengeful ghost raises its voice.)
Who would have thought that solving cases could be so difficult, even with the ability to travel between the worlds of the living and the dead?
No worldly desires, but that doesn’t stop Ling from saving up like crazy.
One little goal: own mansions in both worlds, living and dead.
*The cold cases may be based on real cases, but the story and its conclusions are entirely fictional.
