Ji Xingxing is five years old, and his hidden talent is hearing the thoughts of all things.
His whole family dreams of doing nothing and living off someone else, until his laid-back dad, Ji An, takes him on the hardcore reality show Crime Hunt Live for the sake of appearances.

While the other contestants scramble to find clues, Ji An sprawls on the sofa in sunglasses, putting on a serious act.
The comments flood in: “Second Young Master Ji really is a good-for-nothing!”
Just then, the wall clock screams in Xingxing’s ear: “The killer’s in the crawl space above the ceiling! He hasn’t left! He’s got a runny nose!”
Not wanting his dad to embarrass himself, Xingxing points a laser pointer and says, “Dad, there’s a huge rat!”
Ji An jumps in fright. To preserve his dignity as a “stern father,” he steels himself and pokes at the ceiling with a golf club.
“Crash!”
The ceiling collapses, and a serial killer holding a knife falls out!
