The author has something to say
When I wrote the last word of "Ginkgo Confession in the Evening Wind", the first ginkgo leaf of the year happened to float outside the window - just like the first encounter between Su Wan and Lu Chengyu in the story, with a touch of unexpected tenderness.
This story about book cafes, poetry and ginkgo stems from my obsession with "slow love" and "pyrotechnic ideals". I always feel that the best relationship is not a vigorous oath, but a cup of warm water handed to me in the study room, a poem hidden in the design drawing, and the days and nights spent side by side while building a book bar; the best life is not an unreachable distance, but turning a common love into daily life, hiding poetry in daily necessities, and keeping the original intention as the years go by.
Su Wan's poetry world contains the gentleness and firmness of a literati; Lu Chengyu's architectural drawings are full of the delicacy and romance of engineering students. Their encounter is a collision of literature and architecture, and it is also a mutual nourishment of two souls - just like the fusion of tradition and modernity, like the companionship of ginkgo leaves and the fragrance of books, they may seem different, but they can achieve each other.
During the writing process, I imagined countless times what the "Evening Breeze Book Bar" would look like: the ginkgo roof with upturned eaves, the ruins of the old teahouse under the glass, the poetry cards next to the bookshelf, the golden leaves falling in the small courtyard...
Thank you to everyone who reads this for being willing to step into the story of Su Wan and Lu Chengyu, and for being moved by their tenderness and perseverance. I hope you can also encounter such a relationship: someone understands your love.
