Poland in 1936 was not a lamb destined to perish. Lech Sowa, a young cavalry officer with an ancient noble surname but a passionate ideal, saw a third possibility in the shadow of fascism and the decay of the old world. He resolutely "disobeyed his ancestors" and turned his family inheritance into the capital of the uprising. Deep in the Carpathian Mountains, a top-secret project code-named "Prometheus" was quietly launched; and the apparent obsession with magical weapons such as the "Nazi Bell" was nothing more than a layer of carefully woven smoke. When Poland's nuclear thunder exploded on the shores of the Baltic Sea, and when bombers carrying the "Knight's Sword" flew leisurely over the Korean Peninsula, the whole world realized in horror that the chess game had long been completely overturned by this Central European knight.
