War of Resistance: From Wealthy Republican-Era Heir to Iron-Blooded General

In 1937, flames of war engulfed Beiping.

I, Zhao Xingyu, awoke from a long dream to find the land in ruins and my parents’ bodies still warm before me.

Once a wealthy young master surrounded by luxury, in a single night I had my heart carved out by the Japanese invaders’ bayonets!

This blood feud burns through my very insides, leaving me unable to sleep!

This bone-deep pain reminds me every moment of the suffering of our homeland!

I once lived in comfort and knew nothing of the hardships of ordinary people.

But today, I would give away every last coin and burn this ancestral estate to the ground,

rather than let a single brick or tile aid our wolfish enemy!

I don’t care if I die! I will crush this life of ease with my own hands!

I’ll use the invaders’ blood to honor my parents and the spirits of my countless fallen countrymen!

I’m no soldier, but hatred will teach me how to fire a gun!

I’m no hero, but even a lamb driven to the brink will bare its fangs and become a lone wolf, tearing into the enemy!

I’ll make the land of Beiping remember: the backbone of China’s sons cannot be broken, and they cannot all be killed!

If the invaders can go, then so can I! I’ll offer my blood to my motherland!

This is a path of revenge with no hope of survival, and a campaign to rebuild the backbone of China.

If I go and never return, then so be it!

But before I fall, I’ll make the Japanese army tremble at the sound of my name!
