Azhu, an 18-year-old thief, sneaks into the isolated Majiazhuang alone in order to seek his apprenticeship. His target is a gloomy old red brick house. The villagers tried to dissuade him, saying the rumors were horrifying, but he just ignored them. At midnight, when he pried open the copper lock, a dark figure whispered behind him: "I am in this business too..."
Under the shadow of the moon, the thing had no whites of its eyes and just pointed at a window: "Jump down and you can survive."
A-Zhu jumped up, but fell into a cesspit of ten thousand years, becoming the new bait for "fishing" in the haunted house.
From then on, he turned into an earth-bound resentful spirit. In endless despair, he witnessed the next thief being lured by a new black shadow and heading towards the same ending... And that black shadow looked so familiar. It turns out that this old red brick house itself is a haunted house fishing ground that uses greed as bait and fear as the thread. A-Zhu must uncover the root cause of the old house devouring human lives and break this bloody cycle of substitutes before he is completely lost.
