Li Xu died an ugly death: he dropped dead while playing a game in a moldy rented apartment.
The System 99 bound to him said: “Travel through worlds. Make your destined person fall in love with you, and you'll get a life filled with love.”
Li Xu scoffed. He was a wretch who grew up in the gutter, with a leg broken by his father. What right did he have to learn to love like other people?
But he soon discovered that Shen An, the person he was looking for, lived an even more miserable life than he did in every world.
World One (Modern): The unseen Shen An splits his only piece of bread with him.
World Two (Period): Shen An, condemned for his family background, secretly slips him a piece of candy on the denunciation stage.
World Three (Cultivation): Shen An, with his spiritual roots destroyed, uses his battered body to take a fatal blow for him.
World Four (Interstellar): Shen An, exiled, leaves him the last access to a survival pod.
World Five (Apocalypse): Shen An, infected with a virus, chains himself up and begs him to leave quickly.
World Six (Beast World): Shen An, abandoned by his tribe, warms him with his body heat on a snowy night.
World Seven (Modern): Shen An, now successful and accomplished, crosses a sea of people to walk resolutely toward him once again.
