The world is set in a sprawling futuristic city called Chronos City. The city relies heavily on a precisely synchronized "public timing field" to operate. All transportation, communications, production and even financial transactions are based on an absolutely accurate, city-wide standardized time system (controlled by the Temporal Administration Bureau, TAB).
But in this city, there is a special group of people called "Chronal Marked":
Skews: The flow of time in their bodies will occasionally abnormally speed up or slow down for a few seconds to minutes. This is the most common sign and is considered a "mild malfunction" that often results in embarrassment or minor danger (such as a sudden acceleration while serving hot coffee and spilling it).
Voids: Slices of their time will occasionally "disappear" for a few seconds to minutes. They existed during this time, but city surveillance and the short-term memories of those around them could not capture them, and they themselves had no memory of this time. Very prone to accidents or getting into trouble. Severely discriminated against by society.
Reverses: The rarest and most feared of the species. They can slightly retrace or partially reset the physical state of a time segment within an extremely limited range (perhaps only a few seconds or a few cubic meters of space). This is seen as a direct attack on the public temporal field and a subversion of established reality. Once your identity is exposed, you will be secretly arrested or corrected by TAB.
