Chen Lu was willing to cut ties with his parents for three years for the sake of love. To give the woman he loved the life she wanted, he worked three jobs a day and struggled to pay tens of thousands in credit card bills each month. But on their third anniversary, he saw his gold-digging girlfriend climb into the bed of rich second-generation heir Liu Lei for the sake of a necklace. He came to his senses, abandoned that love, and returned to his hometown, the provincial capital of Haicheng, to seek his parents' forgiveness. On their anniversary, he had taken pity on an old man who urgently needed money for his wife's medical treatment. Chen used what little money he had, along with 800 yuan he borrowed, to scrape together 2,000 yuan and buy the man a jade pendant. This earned him the Inheritance System. After his gold-digging girlfriend crushed him, he also adopted a stray dog. With both blessings from heaven in hand, he returned to Haicheng and began his astonishing comeback, winning the hearts of seven confidantes and embarking on a modern-day Wei Xiaobao's story.
