A fanwork inspired by the Project Moon trilogy! In the Backstreets, where shattered dreams and bloody rules abound, a strange office called the Shell Post Station quietly opens for business. It offers “maintenance”: temporarily storing your painful memories, tuning your numb nerves, and helping your battered “shell,” worn down by life, keep running through these dogshit days.
Elijah, a new hire with a heart turned to ash, is forcibly brought inside by Layrak, a peculiar guide who calls herself the “BOSS.” Beneath the flippant jokes and filthy surroundings lie lies about the “Wings of the World” and a past deeper than the abyss. When Layrak asks brightly, “Wouldn't it be better to leave all that useless stuff here and travel light?” Elijah knows that once something is checked in, he might never get it back.
“Welcome to the Shell Post Station!”
The worst job offer Elijah has ever heard. His new boss, Layrak, is a noisy “Fly King” who calls herself the “BOSS.” In the lawless Backstreets, she runs a strange office that claims it can “maintain” both body and mind. A walking corpse of a “hollow shell,” Elijah is both her employee and the “product” she's most interested in. When flippant lies meet utter numbness, their story begins behind a battered metal door, in a workers' village where time stands still.
I am the author. Yeah, right. Five stars. Right. OK. Escaped.
