The General Bows Before Her

[Two male leads + young general + political intrigue (?) + feigned affection turns real + seme protagonist + powerful one bows his head + 1v1 + equally matched]

[The powerful one bows his head vs. the lowly one dares to defy his superior]

[Reckless young general vs. cool and restrained Prince of Qin]

Does great merit only lead to the ruler's suspicion, then death once one's usefulness is spent?

Can a general really surrender his command over a cup of wine? Must a hostage remain in Chang'an?

Yan Shi wore nothing but red, his gaze and brows carefree. The trust the emperor could not give him, surely someone else could.

Yan Shi carefully chose his target and feigned affection to get close to the Prince of Qin, hoping to secure a chance of survival for the Yan family.

But somewhere along the way, a sliver of genuine affection crept into all that pretense.

Yan Shi watched the lofty Prince of Qin walk toward him, step by step. Taking the prince's hand, he pulled him into his arms and murmured by his ear, “Your Highness, shall I help you claim the throne?”

He called himself a subject, yet acted as though he were above his prince.

Jiang Du lowered his eyes, allowing Yan Shi's defiance and accepting his outrageous transgression.

Who can say which of them first lost the upper hand, or began giving ground, as pretense turned into true affection?

P.S. Yan Shi is the seme.

P.S. The author has suddenly grown a conscience. Since things have come to this, let's enjoy some sweet moments first.
