In 2035, quantum physicist Wu Zirui accidentally captures an alien energy entity from a higher-dimensional universe in a laboratory at the foot of Mount Tai: the "Spirit Core." Through it, he learns that a war between civilizations has raged across the universe for billions of years: the "Observers," who uphold a philosophy of neutrality, and the "Harvesters," who live by invasion and plunder.
Yet humanity's technological progress has already lit a beacon for the Harvesters' invasion. The global energy unification plan, "Lighthouse," turns out to be a deadly trap, and "Sleeper Agents" secretly controlled by the energy entity have infiltrated the heart of human society. With the help of Chen Ying, an agent of the "Pure Land" organization, Wu Zirui is forced to leave his ivory tower and face cognitive warfare, the distortion of reality, and strikes on an astronomical scale.
Guided by the knowledge transmitted by the Spirit Core, Wu Zirui leads his team up an unprecedented "psionic technology tree," from building an "Abyss Detector" that can reveal the enemy to constructing a "Fabric of Order" that can defend against reality distortion. Humanity builds defenses at the edge of the solar system, fights desperately in the sea of consciousness, and ultimately launches a last-ditch counterattack into higher-dimensional space. This is not only a war of technology, but also the ultimate test of humanity's unique values: emotion and creativity. Ultimately, the story asks how a civilization can survive in a cruel universe while preserving the essence of what makes it human.
