Ji Yankong is a charlatan who makes a living telling fortunes, until he awakens the “Great Prophet” System.
He thinks he’s about to become an immortal ancestor and reach the pinnacle of life.
On his first job, he tells a customer, “Congratulations, a fortune is about to fall from the sky!”
The next day, a meteorite worth a fortune falls from the sky and precisely demolishes the customer’s house. The customer is unharmed, but a fortune really did “fall from the sky.”
The second time, he wishes an old man well: “May you live to a hundred and be surrounded by grandchildren!”
The old man bursts out laughing, then suddenly stops breathing, achieves enlightenment on the spot, and ascends to immortality amid a blaze of rosy light. He gets a different kind of “living to a hundred,” while leaving “a house full of grandchildren” behind in the mortal world.
Ji Yankong finally understands: his prophecies are guaranteed to come true, but in the most absurd, twisted, and back-to-front way possible!
From then on, the cultivation world gains a fortune-teller with a very unusual style.
Want to get rich? He’ll curse you fiercely: “Tomorrow, you’ll lose everything and end up penniless!” (Then your backyard collapses, revealing the treasure vault of an ancient cultivator.)
Looking for love? He’ll tell you, heartbroken, “You’re cursed to be alone and destined to die without a partner!” (Then the saintess of a sacred land is accidentally saved by you and falls in love at first sight.)
Ji Yankong: “I really wasn’t trying to curse any of you!”
