Synopsis of Reborn: I’m Done Being This CEO’s Wife
In her previous life, Su Wan gave up her dream of becoming a designer to marry Lu Chengze, the CEO of the Lu Group, whom she had secretly loved for years. She became the “perfect yet invisible” wife behind him, only to die in a so-called accident on the eve of his wedding to the woman he truly loved. Only in her final moments did she learn that she had been nothing more than a pawn Lu Chengze used to keep his family in line.
Reborn, Su Wan returns to the night of her engagement banquet with Lu Chengze. This time, she tears up their engagement agreement in front of everyone, refuses to enter the Lu family home, and turns away to pick up her paintbrush again. She opens her own design studio and vows to take back the life that belongs to her.
Faced with Lu Chengze’s shock, pleas for her to stay, and his later attempts to win her back, Su Wan remains clearheaded. She is no longer a doddering vine revolving around him, but an independent designer determined to shine in the world of design. Along the way, she wins international awards with her distinctive design philosophy, face-slaps the Lu family relatives and industry rivals who once mocked her for “knowing only how to cling to men,” and catches the eye of Gu Yanchen, a partner who truly appreciates and respects her.
Only after losing Su Wan does Lu Chengze understand how precious she is. He tries to win her back with his power and wealth, but she rejects him every time. She has long since realized that the devotion she gave in her previous life was misplaced, and that the freedom and dreams she has now are treasures she must not betray. In the end, Su Wan becomes a celebrated designer with a successful career and a healthy, loving relationship, while Lu Chengze can only watch her step into a whole new life in regret, finally understanding that some kinds of love, once lost, can never be recovered.
