Su Yun is an orphan.
He is sent to live with his uncle and aunt, where he spends every day cutting pigweed and chopping firewood, exhausted and barely fed.
One day, he accidentally discovers that his uncle was involved in his parents' deaths, and is thrown out of the house.
After awakening a god-tier comprehension golden finger, he works hard and passes the examination to become a scholar, determined to prove himself.
At last, he enters officialdom and works his way up step by step: scholar, academician, presented scholar, provincial graduate, and finally top candidate.
In the end, he becomes a county magistrate and sends the uncle and aunt who murdered his parents and harmed his friends and family to prison.
