Three hundred years after interstellar navigation technology became popular, human beings have spread their footprints all over the neighboring galaxies, but have never found traces of extraterrestrial civilizations. Lu Chengxiao, the captain of the "Aurora", was labeled a "reckless person" due to the "Lyra Incident" three years ago and became the captain of the edge detection ship. When he led his team on a routine border patrol, he accidentally captured a pulse signal from deep in the Orion spiral arm. The signal had a regular frequency and contained complex mathematical logic, which could never be generated by natural celestial bodies.
In order to clear his name and find out the truth, Lu Chengxiao defied all opinions and took Shen Xingci, a scientific research officer with a unique talent for signal analysis, and a crew with different intentions to deviate from the route without authorization and jump into the unknown deep space. However, encountering space turbulence during the jump, the spacecraft was damaged and was forced to land on an abandoned planet orbiting a white dwarf star. The surface of the planet is covered with strange crystal structures and incomplete remains of giant buildings, and the source of the signal is in this "star debris".
As their exploration deepened, they discovered that this planet was once an observation station for advanced civilization, and the signal was actually an early warning left before the civilization collapsed. What's even more frightening is that there are "energy-devouring bodies" sealed by civilization hidden deep in the planet, and the energy of the spacecraft is being quietly devoured by them. Lu Chengxiao and Shen Xingci not only have to lead the crew to repair the spacecraft and crack the early warning code, but they also have to fight against the energy phagocytosis that is gradually out of control, and they also have to face betrayal caused by fear among the crew. When the truth was revealed, they realized that the fate of this planet was already closely linked to the future of human civilization.
