Ling Yixing: 22 years old, a freelance illustrator who has just graduated. Since childhood, she has been able to sense the emotions of all things. At eighteen, she unexpectedly awakened the ability to “understand the language of all things.” Gentle and perceptive, with mild social anxiety, she can draw strength from communicating with all things and bears the hidden mission of “protecting the spiritual balance around her.”
Centered on “healing through mysticism,” the story explores the idea that “all things coexist” through the spiritual interactions between the protagonist, Ling Yixing, and plants, animals, and elements of nature. Light mystery, such as the reason the spirituality of a certain forest has weakened, is interwoven with warm everyday moments.
She understands the “needs” of plants, such as being thirsty or afraid of insects; the “worries” of animals, such as a stray cat’s fear of humans; and the “warnings” of natural things, such as an old locust tree sensing that a minor accident is about to happen nearby. But her ability has limits: she cannot sense anything more than 100 meters away, and the ability temporarily stops working when she is emotionally agitated.
