Counter-Strike? I Play It as Real-Life Airsoft

Su Zijin got into the civil service by guessing her way through the exam. Once she started the job, she realized there was something strange about her workplace.

Her colleagues used real guns as training models, the team leader used bombs as teaching aids, and even the cafeteria auntie could deflect bullets with a spatula.

She thought she was taking part in an immersive, anti-terrorism team-building exercise, and diligently played the “noob player” every day.

Then she entered the nuclear launch codes as a game redemption code, and the enemy BOSS, spitting blood with rage, charged right up to her. “Who are you, anyway?”

Su Zijin was so startled that her hand jerked, accidentally pressing the missile launch button.

A message popped up on screen: [Congratulations, player “Butterfingers Lucky Charm,” you have successfully destroyed the enemy base!] Beside her, team leader Pei Zhaoheng silently put away the “toy gun” he’d given her and took a deep breath.

For heaven’s sake, how are we supposed to tell her that we really are the National Counterterrorism Center, and that she herself is the globally wanted “Pink Demon”?
