After waking up, Han Xiaoyu, a high school student from the 21st century, finds herself in the body of Han Mei, a Chinese student at a girls' high school in Nara, Japan, in 1930! From the start, the aristocratic young ladies at school bully and humiliate her. They think she's an easy target? What a joke! She fires back with a whole barrage of Empresses in the Palace tactics, turning the Japanese girls' school into her own harem! Tea ceremonies become her battleground, and flower-arranging classes her arena of political maneuvering! But when the artillery of September 18 tears across the sky and the cries of her compatriots ring in her ears, her victories at school seem utterly laughable. Han Mei resolutely returns to China, transforming step by step from the “queen of palace intrigue” in her ivory tower into a Communist agent operating behind enemy lines. While others are still fighting with rifles and millet, she uses modern business strategies to build the strongest anti-Japanese base! “You want to mess with me? I'll show you what it means to crush someone with a whole other level of technology!”
