A Precious Landscape

Liu Zhenzhen, the legitimate daughter of the Wei chancellor, is gentle on the outside but strong within, clever and resourceful. When the empress tries to force her to marry the second prince, she flees to her maternal family on the frontier to avoid trouble.

On the way, she is attacked by bandits sent by the empress. By chance, she meets Xiao Jing, a general from a family with five generations of distinguished military service, and pretends to be frail so he will escort her.

During their time on the frontier, the two meet often while playing chess, helping the people, and going on outings. Their feelings for each other gradually grow.

The second prince follows her to the frontier, but his recklessness puts him in danger. After Xiao Jing saves him, he comes to his senses and gives up on marrying Liu Zhenzhen for good.
