On an ordinary day when the stall was being closed, Zhang DaDa, a butcher, ventured into a mass grave at dusk to celebrate his son's birthday. He was eager to return home, but he was entangled by a weight that could not be retrieved by the water, and was even left with purple and green marks by a cold ghost hand.
This is not the end, but the beginning of a nightmare. The mark did not disappear, the whispers continued, and the shadow of the water ghost quietly enveloped his originally peaceful home. In order to protect his family, Zhang DaDaFang had to join forces with Taoist priest Lu Jiuzhen from Longquan Temple to use his body as bait to explore the dangerous place again.
However, they soon discovered that the water ghost under the mass grave was not alone. Behind it was a forgotten past of injustice, as well as a larger and darker evil network. When the ancient taboos of the village are violated one by one, Zhang DaDa has to face not only the life-threatening water ghosts, but also the terrifying trend surging underground in the entire town.
